PART III. REQUIREMENTS FOR HIGHER DEGREES | ||
| 707. | Master of Pacific International Affairs (MPIA) [En 11/18/86; Rt by Assembly 5/7/87] | |
| The degree of Master of Pacific International Affairs will be granted on the following conditions: | ||
| (A) | The candidate shall have received the Bachelor's degree; have fulfilled the requirements for admission to the Graduate Division and the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies; and shall meet any additional requirements that may be specified by the Admissions Committee of the Graduate School of International Relations. | |
| (B) | The candidate shall have completed at least one year of resident graduate study (48 units) at the University of California, San Diego. | |
| (C) | In addition to the Core Requirements the candidate shall select a regional and a career specialization from those approved by the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies for inclusion in the MPIA degree program, and shall pursue a program of study approved by his or her program advisory committee. The program of study shall constitute at least three quarters of work appropriate to the approved region or career specialization in which the candidate seeks qualification. | |
| (D) | The candidate shall demonstrate language proficiency in the language of the regional specialization. | |
| (E) | The candidate must maintain a 3.0 grade point average in all course work undertaken as a graduate student at the University of California. | |
| (F) | The program of work of each candidate shall be under the supervision of a faculty committee appointed by the Dean of the Graduate School of International Relations and Pacific Studies and the Dean of Graduate Studies. | |
